Apaches arrive in Texas.
Apache is the collective term for several culturally related groups of Native Americans in the United States originally from the American Southwest. These indigenous peoples of North America speak a Southern Athabaskan (Apachean) language, which is related linguistically to the languages of Athabaskan speakers of Alaska and western Canada. Apachean peoples formerly ranged over eastern Arizona, northwestern Mexico, New Mexico, Texas and the southern Great Plains. -

San Antonio is the second-largest city in the state of Texas and the seventh-largest city in the United States with a population of 1.3 million. San Antonio is the center of Tejano culture and Texas tourism. It was the fourth fastest growing city in the nation from 2000 to 2006. -
Deadliest U.S. and Texan hurricane.
The Hurricane of 1900 made landfall on the city of Galveston in the U.S. state of Texas, on September 8, 1900. It had estimated winds of 135 miles per hour at landfall, making it a Category 4 storm on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Scale. The hurricane caused great loss of life with the estimated death toll between 6,000 and 12,000 individuals. -
Mexican Revolution Begins
The Mexican Revolution was a major armed struggle that started in 1910 with an uprising led by Francisco I. Madero. The Revolution was characterized by several socialist, liberal, anarchist, populist, and agrarianist movements. Over time the Revolution changed from a revolt against the established order to a multi-sided civil war. -
Japan Bombs Pearl Harbor.
This starts the second World War. It was an unannounced military strike conducted by the Japanese navy against the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on the morning of December 7, 1941. Some say it was a sneak attack. -
George W. Bush is elected governor of Texas.
George Walker Bush was born July 6th, 1946. Bush is the eldest son of President George H. W. Bush, who served as the 41st President, and Barbara Bush. That makes him one of only two American presidents to be the son of a preceding president.
