Beginning of the Green Revolution
The date here is an approximate one. The Green Revolution is not the same thing as the global increase in ecological awareness. It refers to the spread of crop strains and farming techniques meant to assure that the food supply keeps up with population growth. It has involved the transfer of technologies that had previously been used primarily in industrialized countries, such as pesticides, irrigation projects, and synthetic chemical fertilizers. -
