The Battle of Gettysburg Pennsylvania began on July 1, 1863 with the Confederate troops attacking the Union cavalry West of town. -
Day 2 of Fighting
Day 2
Early in the morning the Confederates delayed their attack even longer allowing the Union army to strengthen their position. The Union%u2019s Major General advanced in front of the main line and they became under attack. -
Day 3 (Final Day of Fighting)
Day 3
The fighting began early in the morning around 4a.m. with cannon fire. The Union artillery moved through the lower end of Culp%u2019s Hill, and continued fighting over Culp%u2019s hill, and then the fighting over Culp%u2019s Hill ended. -
