  • skin cancer sceening

A visual check of your skin only finds moles that may be cancer. I need to see a dermatologist once a year, or more often if i am at a higher risk of skin cancer, for a full-body, professional skin exam.
  • thyroid cancer screening

I should be screened once a year with a TSH test.Hyperthyroidism causes low TSH levels, while hypothyroidism will produce a high TSH result. A routine physical exam when the doctor checks the patient's neck for lumps (nodules) or swelling in the neck, voice box, and lymph nodes, or anything else that seems unusual.
Surgery that is done for another condition.
  • cervical cancer screening

recommends screening for cervical cancer in women age 21-65 years with cytology (Pap smear) every 3 years or, for women age 30 to 65 years who want to lengthen the screening interval, screening with a combination of cytology and human papillomavirus (HPV) testing every 5 years. During the Pap test, the doctor will use a speculum, to widen your vagina. The doctor will collect a few cells and mucus from the cervix and the area around it. The cells are sent to a laboratory.
  • mammogram

a mammogram is a screening of the breast. I should start getting them in my 40's. I need to get them every 1-2 years. It screens for breast cancer. A mammogram is a picture of your breast taken with a safe, low-dose X-ray machine. Your technologist will ask you to stand facing the mammography machine, and then place one breast at a time on a flat surface. During this time, an X-ray beam comes from above and penetrates your breast tissue.
