It was based off the premise of anonymous way to transfer funds, called eCash. eCash is considered the pioneer of cryptocurrency.

    SMS was a concept well before 1992, it wasn't till then that the first text was sent. Then following years texting became more accessible. While SMS isn't as popular today because of other messaging platforms it still set way for the change from calling/paging to texting.

    The first ever DVD player was made by Toshiba and took over for VHS. DVDs set the path for improved film quality and streaming services. It was revolutionary to be able to fit a whole movie on a disc, which was possible by making the DVDs high in density and compressing the video.

    The first portable MP3 player was created by Saehan Information Systems which was first released in Asia. It was able to store 6-12 songs on it and even had a screen to tell you what song was playing. Portable music has always been a big part of pop culture for years. It can influence who you hang around, what you do that day, and just make the day go by a little faster. With music being more easy to access than ever, it's always cool to see what came before.
