World War 1 (WW1)
A 4 year war period between 32 countries from around the globe.The Allies included Britain, France, Russia, Italy and the United States. These countries fought against the Central Powers which included Germany, Austria-Hungary, Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria. By the end of the war, the Axis had signed a Treaty of Versailles for their defeat. The war had ended on the 11th of November on 1918 -
Russian Revolution
The Russian Revolution was a revolt involving the collapse of the current Russian Empire at that time. Lead by Tsar Nicholas II. This was the beginning of a new era for Russia and would effect countries around the world. -
League of Nations
The League of Nations was a non-government organisation made by Woodrow Wilson (28th President of the U.S 1913-1921) To maintain world peace and order. It had involved 63 countries. -
The Great Depression
Beginning in America and would eventually span over Europe, North America and other industrialised areas of the world. It had begun because of a stock market crash which is known as "Black Thursday" It had lasted from 1929 to 1939. -
The Holocaust
An event sparked by Nazi Germany, who had hatred for the people who were different and not the typical "Aryan". The Nazis in 1933 had rounded up the Gypsies, the disabled, Communists, Socialists, Jehovah's Witnesses, homosexuals and jews. -
World War 2 (WW2)
A global war that started officially in 1939 September 1st and lasted until 1945 September 2nd. Sparked by Japanese invasions of China in the 1930s and Nazi Germanys invasion of Poland and France. Officially started the War when the U.S was attacked at Pearl Harbour on Dec 7th of 1941 by the Japanese Airforce. -
Germany Invades Poland
Germany invades Poland on the 9th of September of 1939. This day will mark the Second World War. -
D-Day Invasion
The Allied invasion of Normandy signals the beginning of the end of the War. 12 Allied Nations had participated in the D-Day Invasion. -
U.S drops Nuclear bomb over Japan
After the surrender of Nazi Germany, the U.S knew that if they had made a landing invasion in Japan, it would of had cost millions of American lives. To end the war quicker, they had drop the Nuclear bomb of Nagasaki and Hiroshima on August 6th of 1945 -
Korean War
A war between the South and North Koreas. North Korea had the intentions of uniting the South to make it a Communist country, in result the war had lasted 3 years with a casualty of 60 000. -
Vietnam War
The Vietnam war that was between North Vietnam and South Vietnam. North Vietnam was supported by Communist Russia and China while the South was supported by America and all its allies. America was feared that Vietnam would fall into the "Domino effect" or Vietnam falling into a communist regime which then would be followed on by other countries. -
John F Kennedy Assassination
The 35th President of the U.S is assassinated in Dallas Texas on the 22nd Nov 1963. -
Moon Landing
A race between America and Russia to see who would "claim" the moon. On July 20th of 1969, 3 American men had taken apart of the Apollo 2 mission. They had landed on the moon to make history for all mankind. -
President Nixon Resigns
President Nixon resigns due to the Watergate scandal, in which President Nixon had tried preventing the investigation of 5 FBI and CIA agents who had broken in to the National Democratic Headquarters. -
Collapse of the Soviet Union
An event that marked history forever. The fall of the Soviet union had resulted in officially granting Russia a self-governing independence.
