2004 Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act
Allows special education programs for all students with disabilities between the ages 3 to 21. Individualized education plan (IEP) was developed to meet the special learning needs of each student with disabilities. The students must be placed in the least restrictive environment. Allows districts to use a response-to-intervention model for determining whether a child has a specific learning disability.
