2.4 Creating a Plan

  • The Plan

    Practice my violin more (at least 30 minutes a day) - it's calming and a great way to express myself. I not only love to listen to music, but I also love playing it. I also want to be able to improve on my playing techniques (such as vibrato, higher positions, tone quality ... etc).
  • Reasons to Achieve this Plan

    "The most important thing to remember is that these are your goals, not your parent's, your teacher's, or anyone else's" (Unit 2 Health iBook pg 11). Although my music directors and parents do encourage me to continue playing, I love doing it anyway. "Connect goals to the ultimate currency: happiness!" (Unit 2 Health iBook pg 12). Being able to play makes me happy, as it is a way to express and relax myself.

    Achieve the Plan

    This time next year, I want to better myself as a musician. I want to have practiced more and I want to gain more insight on different playing techniques. "...we need to be careful with ourselves because goals can also be a source of anxiety" (Unit 2 Health iBook pg 13). I believe that throughout the journey of accomplishing this goal, I will not be struck with much anxiety, as I will be pursuing something I truly love.
