- The sonic ova was originally meant to be a Japanese anime but was cut off after episode 2 (sadly), so when it released in America they simply made some added things in the middle to make it seem like a connected movie
- The sonic ova only featured five characters from the sonic the hedgehog games which are sonic, tails, knuckles, eggman and metal sonic, all the others are original to the movie
