    Amdahl Corporation introduces the Amdahl 470
    Gene Amdahl, former "father of IBM system", opens his own company. The 470/6 was a smaller model that ran the same software as the IBM systems, but more cost effective.
  • Inventing the Internet

    Inventing the Internet
    Though some networks were able to communicate easily, there were issues with trying to communicate with other networks. France’s CYCLADES and Britain’s NPL network began to experiment with internetworking the networks with the European Informatics Network (EIN). ARPA's Cerf and Kahn were able to link 3 networks and improve the efficiency, creating a smooth channel of world-wide networking.

    Apple's newest module of the computer included several gadgets such as main logic board, keyboard, manual, and gamepads. This computer had some of the greatest graphics which made for excellent entertainment when hooked to the television or used for gaming. Apple also gifted universities this model, and gave college students a glimpse into computers for school.
