The Bay of pigs was a threat to take over Cuba by using the CIA and 1500 exiles which, in turn, embarrassed Kennedy's administration. -
James Meredith
James Meredith was the first African American to become a student at the University of Mississippi in October of 1962. -
Voting Rights Act of 1965
This act allowed African Americans to vote without as many difficulties as before. -
Nixon presidency
Nixon became president because he promised peace and the end of war. -

The Pentagon Papers were the papers that held the United States Involvement with the Vietnam war and were leaked in 1971 allowing press to know the government's plans. -
26th amendment
This amendment lowered the voting age across the United States down to 18 from the original age of 21. -
