    Mexican Workers + Racism
    During the 1930's many Mexican workers were deported to Mexico, many of whom were U.S citizens. Over 400,000 Mexican workers were deported to Mexico but the deportees were accused of usurping "Americans" from jobs during the Depression. They were accused because of their race and color, for if they were white, they probably wouldn't have been accused.

    Poverty in the Great Depression
    In the great depression, many people had either lost their jobs, were in great debt, had a loss of savings, gone bankrupt, were homelessness. Because of this, a majority of the country were in poverty. Over 12,000 people were losing their jobs every day. Because of this, people were starving and dying. People were living in terrible conditions and weren't healthy enough at all.

    The Holocaust, which is also know as the HaShoah, was a genocide conducted by Adolf Hitler, his Nazi army and its allies. They killed over 6 million Jews. The victims included over 1.5 million children. The Jews that were killed represented around two-thirds of the nine million Jews who were living in Europe.

    Lynching is a method of execution by hanging oneself. NAACP had a anti-lynching campaign which showed the causes and cost of lynching. By 1938, the amount of people who were lynched declined deeply.

    After the first world war, Adolf Hitler assumes power of Germany in 1933. He wanted to avenge Germany's defeat in world war 1. In 1939-1945, he declared war-World War II- against Britain and other countries in Europe but faced a heavy defeat. It led to the death of many innocent people.

    During the Great depression, many people lost their jobs and even though an amendment had been added to the bill of rights saying that all men, black or white were equal, people were still rather racist. Black people were usually the first people to lose their jobs. Violence even arose against black people by white people competing for the same job.
  • Pearl Harbor

    On December 7 1941, after months of planning, the Japanese launched their attack. The country dropped bombs onto Pearl Harbor. This killed near 2000 men and injured around 1000. The day after, Franklin Roosevelt asked congress to wage war on Japan. They agreed with one opposing vote. Japan's allies- Germany and its allies- then declared war on U.S. This finally made America a part of World War 2.
