New York Stock Exchange Crashes
This is the day that the Stock Market crashed beginning the Great Depression. Just before the market crashe the stock values peaked and then fell to extremely low values and continued to fall. -

Germans Invade Paris (War Begins)
The night before the Germans had met with the French knowing that Paris would fall if attacked by the German. At the same time France surrendered Paris to the Germans. -
Attack on Pearl Harbor (U.S. Joins WWII)
With no warning the Japanese dropped bombs on Pearl Harbor near an Air Base. This caused the U.S. to join the second World War. -

Soviet Troops blockade highways and roads. Electrical power was shut off to Western Berlin. -

Began because of Rosa Parks arrest. Was used as a form of nonviolent resistence. -

Four African American students went to a store were allowed to purchase products but were not allowed to be served at a lunch counter. Over the following days they took much abuse but never fought back. -

Columbine
This day there was a mass school shooting at Columbine High School by boys. Fifteen were killed and twenty-three wounded. -
7. 9/11
On this day the Twin Towers, in New York, were bombed by terrorists who took over a plane and flew it right in to the first tower, then a second terrorist flew the second plane into the second tower. The Pentagon was also attacked. There is now a day in memorial for all those who lost their lives either in an attack or helping/rescuing others who were trapped. -
7. 2008 Presidential Election
The two canidates running for president were now president Barack Obama and John McCain. Obama won making him the first ever African American president marking an important milestone in American history.
