The war was Great Britian against the 13 Colonies. The war was over the Colonies becoming independent. The war lasted from April 19, 1775- September 3, 1783. -
Declaration of Independence
The Declaration for Indepence was a letter to Great Britian in request for indepence. It was a movement for American rights, that soon turned into a movement for indepence. -

Slavery decreased in Pennsylvania. This is due to Gradual Act of 1780. -

The Constitution provided the basis for pulic education. There were many acts pased for this purpose. -
Quakers
The Quakers were the first group to express an opposition to slavery that was organized. -
War of 1812 with Britian
The war of 1812 lasted 32 months, the conflict was between United States and Great Britian. The United States declared war because of trade restrictions, impressment of American merchant sailors, and the support of American Indian tribes by the British. -
Lucretia Mott
Lucretia was a Quaker, teacher, and preacher. She participated in Philadelphia in 1833 to form an American anti-slave society. -

She was an abolitionist of womens rights. She used newspapers and lectures to support her cause. -
