Queen Annes war starts
In 1700, the king of Spain Charles II died. He had no heirs, so there was a dispute over who should succeed him as king. This eventually led to a war in which the major European powers participated on one side or the other. Britain fought against France and Spain. The war spread to North America as well in 1702 where the British and French fought against each other. -
New Jersey colonies were established
The British Queen Anne established the royal colony of New Jersey by combining the American provinces of East Jersey and West Jersey. -

Queen Annes war ends
The British won the Queen Anne’s War and concluded it with a treaty in 1713. They also gained control of many new areas in North America including Acadia, Newfoundland, Hudson Bay, and St. Kitts island. -
The Yamasee War takes place
This war was fought between British colonists of South Carolina on one side and a number of Native American tribes on the other side led by the Yamasee tribe. The Native Americans destroyed a number of settlements and killed a large number of colonists. -
South Carolina wins the Yamasee War
At the start of the war, the British colonists in South Carolina suffered many setbacks. They lost many lives as well as settlements. But slowly, they turned the war against the Yamasee tribe. By 1717, the Yamasee were effectively defeated and the South Carolina colonists were victorious, bringing the war to an end. -

King George creates a Charter for poor people. The colony was supposed to act as a shield for South Carolina -

French and Indian War
Iroquois Indians had a lot of land along the Ohio River. The Ohio company wanted to build forts along the Ohio River. British got involved. French and British go to war. British win, and the french surrender. -
Currency Act
English colonies can no longer use their own currency. They must instead use British money. -
Proclamation Line
Create to uphold a "promise" between the Iroquois and Delaware, that is to have a colony with no English Settlers. Colonists just finish fighting for that land, and now they were being kicked out of it. -
Treaty of Paris
Kicked French out of the new world. England has been through a lot of wars. Begins to tax people to pay off war debt. -
Sugar Act
Established Vice admiralty courts to enforce the navigation acts. Also replaced the Molasses Act of 1733, except now it encompassed more than just Molasses -

Colonists had to provide for English soldiers -
Stamp Act of Congress
Petition to the King to remove the Stamp Act of 1765. Parliament removes the Stamp Act of 1765 and immediately replaces it with the Declaratory Act -
Stamp Act
First tax directed towards American Colonies. Items that are to be taxed must bear a stamp on them. Violators will be tried and convicted in Vice Admiralty courts -
Declaratory Act
Parliament now says that they are the supreme ruler of the land. -

Boston Massacre
Shots were fired in Boston, no one knows who started it. 7 people die as a result. -
Tea Act
Create to give a monopoly to East India Trading Company. Removed import tax from England. -
Boston Tea Party
Bostonians would not let the tea be unlocked. If the tea was brought on the land, then it would then be considered theirs. -
