The Magna Carta was the offical charter of rights the english invented to show that noone was above the law. It was a set of rules that everyone in society had to follow, even the king. The magna carta still influences canadian law, since for the most part candian law has derived from british law it still has signifigance to our society today -

In 1642 the great civil war began between the Parliment and King Charles 1. The reason for the war was because King Charles wanted to change the faiths of many scots but the rebelled so he took matters into his own hands, withut consulting the Parliment. -
