Caterpillar Expands
Caterpillar continues to expand from 40 acres to 64 acres to over 80 acres of eventual land, factory and offices. -
Caterpillar Co. expands factory to cover 40 acres of offices and factories just across the Illinois River from Peoria's downtown.
Caterpiller begins to expand on it's one property in the East Peoria Levee district in 1914. They finished construction of six more buildings that consumed over 40 acres of land. -

City council approves new name for East Peoria Downtown. Thus, the Levee District is born. -
Super Target
Super Target grabs the next major lot. Opens their doors for the public. The store also includes a Starbucks Coffee on the inside of the shopping center. -
Holiday Inn
Holiday Inn and Johnny's Italian Steakhouse open up on the corner of the Levee district. First residential/living space created. -
