    Focusing on the importance of recycling and taking care of our planet, we are conducting an experiment to visually see firsthand how different items decompose if they degrade any at all. How do different items decompose or degrade over a specified time?

    Dig Day!
    Today, we buried our 8 items. The items were buried approximately 9-12 inches deep. The temperature was around 45 degrees, light winds, and dry. Although the weather has been good and temperatures fair, the ground was fairly tough to dig in since we have had little precipitation in the last month.

    Through the week of January 10th, we had average temperatures of 35 degrees. At the beginning of the week, we experienced freezing temperatures with freezing drizzle, light rain and snow. Towards the end of the week, temperatures were still close to freezing but sunny.
