The Lousiana Purchase was a purchase of 828,800 square miles that the U.S. purchased from France.It effected the U.S. so much because it gained a lot of land(doubled it actually!)The deal was made between France and the U.S. just to defuse the conflict between them. -

The Civil War was fought between the Confederate states and the Union states.They fought because the Confederate states thought slavery should be allowed and the Union disagreed and thought that slavery should be abolished,This changed the U.S. because now there is no slavery or discrimination between colors of skin. -

The Great Depression was a crash in the stock market and it devastated the U.S.This had a big impact on the U.S. because the constuction,farming and cropping industries,and the major industrial cities were hit hard by the depression.The Great Depression ended when the government finally started cutting taxes,balancing budgets,and freed markets. -

9/11 Attack
On September 11,2001 terrorists hijacked four planes.The first plane hit the North Tower of the World Trade Center.The second plane hit the South Tower shortly after.The third plane hit the Pentagon and the fourth plane crashed in an empty field in Pennsylvania.This really changed U.S. history because so many lives were lost that day and it really changed the security procedures.We will remember the people who died that day.
