    Industrial/Agricultural Revolution
    Click here for more information about the Industrial and Agricultural Revolutions.This was the hugely important move from rural lands to urban cities. It first started in Britain in rougly the 1700, and began with improvments on farming techniques, then changes from the domestic to factory system, then the apperance and growth of large cities. From this revolution sprung many of the inventions we still use today, such as the car and the airplane.

    America declared war on Britain, and it began with the battles of Lexington and Concord. The war between the colonies and Britain lasted approximatly 6 1/2 years, and resulted in about 50,000 casulaties. Nobody expected America to win, yet they did and we gained our independance, and our sense of American spirit.
  • French Revolution

    Click here for more information about the French Revolution.In 1789, the "third estate" or lower class was upset with their heavy taxes and their government in general. They formed the Assembly, and this new power took French sovereignity into thier own hands. But it didn't last long; the power over France shifted a lot, including one shift to Maximillian Robespierre, who ran the Reign of Terror, a time when anyone suspicious was killed. The power eventually switched to Napolean Bonaparte, and nationalism spread throughout Europe and changed the world.

    Click here for more information about Lewis and Clark.Merriweather Lewis and William Clark set out on their cross country expedition to explore the Louisiana Terriotory. The journey took nearly 2 years and covered 8,000 miles. In North Dakota, they met a young guide and translator, Sacagawea. She accompianed them on the rest of their journey, Lewis and Clark changed history by discovering many new plants, animals, and people.

Here, he discovered mostly everything we know today about evolution. natural selection, and the reasons for different species. This man and this 5 year journey drastically changed the world's veiw on life sciences and biology.

They wanted the natural resources that were abundant there, so they could fuel their own industrial revolutions.This impacted the whole world, and really affected the people of Africa; they were treated like dirt by their foreign rulers. Africa has been changed drastically because of this time period; borders were redrawn during this time, and these borders still exsist today.

The North, or the Union, was horrified when the collection of southern slave-bearing states seceeded from them. They formed a new nation called the Confederate States of America, and they declared war on the Union for trying to take away their rights and way of life. This changed America, and the world, because slavery was abolished and African Americans were more accepted in society. It was the bloodiest war in American history.

This invention is probably one of the most important of all time. Without it, we would probably still be reading, working, and living by candle light.

    Click her for more information of WWI and the Archduke.Archduke Francis Ferdinand of Austria and his wife, Sofia, were assasinated by ninteen-year-old Gavrilo Princep, a Bosnian Serb. This was the straw that broke the camel's back, throwing Europe into war. All of the major countries in Europe were involved in this war because of the alliances that sucked them in. Even America, Japan, and Russia were pulled into the fray. The Allies eventually won the war, defeating Germany with the Treaty of Versailles.

The Bolsheviks won over the less radical class, the Mensheviks, and quickly took control of the government. And from the Bolshevik rule, communism and the Soviet Union came about. Communism has changed government and economic systems throughtout the world, and will continue to do so.
