  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    Conflict fight between Britain and France over New World Territory.
    American colonist were very angry as they wanted to settle down on that land.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The Sugar act changed taxes on imports from the Caribbean and when enforcing taxes from smuggling they cut their tax.
    The colonist protested as the tax did increase with smuggling and with other such things.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    All printed material such as newspapers had to carry a stamp, this stamp however was not free.
    The colonist protested a stamp act congress, this protests was coordinated by many colonist and worked.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act
    The declaratory act was passed, this act stated that they could tax you but they don't want to yet they could.
    Some colonist liked the fact they passed this act as they thought there would be no more add on to taxes nut some were upset because they figured more acts would follow.
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act
    This act was to stop the smuggling, Americans didn't like this act as some made their money from sending other resource that were being boycott.
    This act also got out of hand as it did set off the Boston massacre on march 5th 1770.
    Some colonist were very upset with this act and protested very largely as some made money this way.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act
    With new tea coming in, the government dumped the old cheap tea into the river as it wasn't needed for them.
    Colonist were mad at this as they didn't want any smugglers making profits off of this cheap tea that was being dumped.
  • Revolutionary War

     Revolutionary War
    Great Britain and North American colonies fought for the declaration of independence.
    The American colonist refused to do anything with the British since this war started.
