Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim started YouTube as one of them said that he were looking for an online video of the 2004 Super Bowl incident and it was dificult to get the raws of the video so he decided to include his buddies into making a video sharing community where they could post videos of whatever they wanted. -
The first video
"Me ar the zoo" was uploaded and claimed the title for the earliest video on youtube ever posted. It was uploaded by co-founder Jawed Karim. It was shot at San Diego Zoo in front of the elephants. -
Beta Test is released for youtube

For the public
YouTube offered the public a beta test of the site in May 2005, six months before the official launch in November 2005. The site grew rapidly, and in July 2006 the company announced that more than 65,000 new videos were being uploaded every day, and that the site was receiving 100 million video views per day. -

Charlie Bit My Finger goes viral
A video named " Charlie bit my finger-again!" was posted by the boys' father and was only intended to that the boys' godfather could see it. It went viral and is the most viewed video that isn't a profesional music video.It now has over 571 million views. -
April Fools
in honor of it being April Fools Day,They had a little fun by making all the links to the videos on the main page redirect to Rick Astley's music video "Never Gonna Give You Up", a prank known as "Rickrolling".
Youtube has continued this tradition for every year since then. -
3D!
In a video posted, YouTube software engineer Peter Bradshaw announced that YouTube users can now upload 3D videos. -
Chaning the interface
YouTube launched a new design, with the aim of simplifying the interface and increasing the time users spend on the site. Google product manager Shiva Rajaraman commented: "We really felt like we needed to step back and remove the clutter." -
Google+
In November 2011, the Google+ social networking site was integrated directly with YouTube and the Chrome web browser, allowing YouTube videos to be viewed from within the Google+ interface. -
New changes
On December 1, 2011, YouTube launched a new version of the site interface, with the video channels displayed in a central column on the home page, similar to the news feeds of social networking sites.[45] At the same time, a new version of the YouTube logo was introduced with a darker shade of red, the first change in design since October 2006.[46] -
First to a billion
The most viewed video on YouTube is the music video of the song "Gangnam Style" by PSY. It was added to the site on July 15, 2012, and became the first YouTube video to receive over 1 billion views on December 21, 2012 -
Charging
In May 2013, YouTube launched a pilot program to began offering some content providers the ability to charge $0.99 per month or more for certain channels, but the vast majority of its videos would remain free to view.
