The Stamp Act was a tax by Britain on books and other paper products. Every paper product they bought, they had to pay a tax to get the stamp. Samuel Adams helped the colonists fight the Stamp Act. -

The Townshend Act
The Townshend act was a tax on the colonist. The British taxed the colonists every time they shipped goods to the colonies. The colonists boycotted it. -
The Boston Massacre
The British started the Boston Massacre when they fired on colonists who were throwing snowballs at them. In the Boston Massacre, five colonists got shot. Four Americans died and one o these, was an African American died named Crispus Attucks. -
The Boston Tea Party
The colonists dressed up as Mohawk Indians to throw tea in the harbor because the British were taxing tea. The Americans forced opend 324 chests of tea. The British goverment reacted by closing the Boston harbor. Alot of people knew that soon there would be war. -
First Continental Congress meets
A representative,or person,came from twelve of the thirteen colonies to meet together in Philedelphia. They decided to stop all trade with Britian and to form militias, volunteer armies, in each colony. They decided to meet again in a year. -
Paul Revere's Midnight Ride
Paul Revere saw lanterns in the Old South Church in Boston, Massachusetts. He saw two lit lanterns, which meant the British were coming by sea. He rode his horse to Lexington to warn Samuel Adams, John Hancock, and the other colonists that the British were coming to attack them. -
The Battle of Lexington and Concord
This was the first battle of the Revolutionary War. The British tried to scare the colonists, but the colonists fought back. The colonists retreated from Lexington and went to Concord. They won the battle at Concord. -
The Battle of Bunker Hill
This battle happened in BreedHill, Massachusetts. The reason this battle occured was that the colonists were protecting the hill and the Redcoats wanted to control the hill. -

This document was written by Thomas Jefferson and signed by the Continental Congress. It was sent to King George the lll. -
The Battle of Yorktown
George Washington and his army surrounded the British at Yorktown.
On October 19, Cornwallis surrendered his army to George Washington. This was the last major battle of the American Revoulution. The colonists won this battle.
