    The reson Charlemagne became king was because his brother died and he was next in line to be the king of the Frankish. He was going to make everybodys life much better. The importance of him was that when he became ruler he immediately set about expanding his territory.Through the course of more than 50 battles, most of which he led in person, he'd conquered almost all of mainland Europe. Charlemagne instituted the same reforms, creating a common identity in people from eastern Germany to south
