    Amniotic sac forms around the fertilized egg.The placenta develops and at the end of the 1st month the baby is about 1/4 inches

  • 2 months

    2 months
    Baby's facial features continue to develop.The embryo begins to move but the mom does not feel it.Bone also begins to replace cartilage.Baby is about 1 inch

  • 3 months

    3 months
    Baby's reproductive organs develop,but the gender is difficult to distinguish on a ultrasound.The circulatory and urinary systems are working and the liver produces bile.The baby is about 3-4 inches

  • 4 months

    4 months
    Gender is identifiable.Skin is bright pink, transparent and covered with soft, downy hair.Baby is 6-1/2 to 7 inches long.

  • 5 months

    5 months
    Soft woolly hair called lanugo covers baby’s body.Some may remain until a week after birth when it is shed.Mother begins to feel fetal movement.Baby is 8-10 inches long.

  • 6 months

    6 months
    Skin is covered with protective coating called vernix.Eyelids begin to part and eyes open sometimes for short periods of time.Baby is 11 to 14 inches long.

  • 7 months

    7 months
    Baby's hearing is fully developed and changes position frequently and responds to stimuli,including sound,pain,and,light.Fat begins to be deposited on the baby.Baby is about 14 inches long

  • 8 months

    Most internal systems are well developed, but the lungs may still be immature.Baby's brain is developing rapidly at this time, and can see and hear. Baby is about 18 inches long.

    Baby's position changes to prepare itself for labor and delivery.Baby drops down in your pelvis, and head is facing down toward the birth canal.Baby is 18-20 inches long
