The Nazis and Soviet union signed a peace treaty. This meant that there would never be a war between the two powers. This shocked and awed many other powers who never foresaw an agreement between the two. -

Japenese troops clashed at Peiping China and created the sart of an undeclaed war. This occurred because japan wanted a war.This resulted in the escalation to the point of war. Many people tried to reason with china and germany but to no avail. -

The rape of Nanking was when japanese soldiers killed over 100,000 unarmed civilians. They also raped and looted. This was a horrible war crime that occured. Many who started these killings were tried for war crimes and found guilty. -

It means a method of war that uses a series of quick and spearheded attacks. The Germans eccelled at these and utilized them often. The effects were disasterous. Many armies couldnt handle these attacks. -

Germany invaded Paris and took it successfully. This was to increase their grip and foot hold in Europe. Many believe that Americans should have done more to help with the defense of paris. -

Bataan Death March
Prisoners were stripped , and told to march to Balanga, the capital of Bataan. Many were beaten, bayoneted, and mistreated. POWs received little food or water, and died along the way from heat or exhaustion.Some POWs drank water from filthy water buffalo wallows on the side of the road. Some Japanese troops lost control during the chaos and beat or bayoneted prisoners who began to fall behind, or were unable to keep up. -
Battle of Midway
The Battle of Midway was a decisive naval battle in World War 2.The Japanese plan was to lure the United States' aircraft carriers into a deadly trap. The Japanese also intended to occupy Midway as part of an overall plan to extend their defensive perimeter. Americans broke their code and set up an ambush. -

This marked the end of Hitlers reign in Europe and a final peace in Europe as well. -
Dropping of the Atomic Bombs
The United States dropped the atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. These two bombings, which killed over 129,000 people, are the only use of nuclear weapons for warfare in history. -
