Germany invades Poland
On September 1st, 1939 Poland was invaded by German Forces. Poland was invaed because Hitlers promise to give the people of Germany lebensraum, or land the NAZI party needd for natural development. Hitler invading Poland caused Great Britain to declare war on Germany. -
Germany invades France and captures Paris
Germany invaded France after a period called the Phony War, where Great Britain and France were not acting on their declaration of war. Francde was invaded because they declared war on Germany, so instead of waiting, they attacked first. Without France as an ally Great Britain the war was not fought on the Western Front -
Germany bombed London, and the battle of Britain begins
The bombing of London, or the Blitz was an event used to break the British population. The Blitz is supposed to destroy London and shock it's leaders into surrendering. During The Blitz Great Britain was building her air power, which allowed Germany to be defeated. -
The United States aids Britain with supplies in return of Military Bases
During The Blitz the US decided to aid Great Britain with supplies in return for military bases. They did this because their relations with the Axis powers where declining, because of Italy's alliance with Germany and Japan invadeing China. After the US helped Great Britain they could no longer be considered out of the war. -
Germany invades the Soviet Union and the Soviet's defeat Germany in Stalingrad
Germany had signed a non agression pact with the Soviet Union so when he invades them it is a huge surprise. Hitler devides to invade because it seemed like an amazing oppertunity for him to build back Germany. If he had not invaded the Soviet Union, he would not have been defeated in Stalingrad on Febuary 2nd, 1943. -
Japan bombs Pearl Harbor
On December 7th, 1941 Pearl harbor was bombed, in the bombing many US ships and aircraft were destroyed. The Japanese targeted the USA to try to scare them from joining the war. After the bombing the US declared war on Japan. -

On December 11th Germany declared war on the USA, because the USA declared war on Japan, who is in an alliance with Germany. Germany decides to declare war on the USA because Hitler did not want the USA to declare war first. After Hitlers declaration of war, this war really was worldwide. -
The USA conqures Japan in the Battle of Midway
The Battle of Midway is known as the turning point of the war. This battle happened because the USA intercepted a telegraph from Japan talking about a sneak attack. This battle caused permenant damage to the Japanese navy, which changed the way the war was fought. -
Allied troops landed in Normandy, France
When allied troops land in France, it was known as D-day. The allied forces are trying to liberate Western Europe, from Hitlers control. After liberating Western Europe hitler could no longer send his soliders to that front, which is a factor to him losing the war. -
Concentration camps are liberated
Concentration camps are aplace where those who where deemed unfit to be German went to die. Hitler did this in order to make sure all resources stayed with "true" Germans. After these camps where liberated the Jews where grantecmoney ang for Isreal to be a Jewish state. -
Battle of the Bulge
The Battle of the Bulge is Hitlers last stand. He does this in hope that he can push the allied powers back, Hitlers last stand fails. Germany surrenders not long after the battle. -
Battle of Iwo Jima
The allied powers are now focuseing on getting Japan to surrender. The allied powers are trying to counqure two airbases on the island. This key areas is taken, and the allies are this much closer to the main land. -
Atomic bombs are dropped on Japan
The USA has dropped the only atomic bomb in war on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The bomb was dropped to avoid any huge casualties on the Allied forces side. After the bombs where dropped Japan surrendered and WWII was officially over.
