Demilitarised zone between Germany and France. Considered to be a buffer zone. Attacked by Germany in order to break the terms of the Trreaty of Versailles. -
Spanish Civil War
Military revolt against, against the Republican government of Spain. Led by Francisco Franco, who was supported by Germany and Italy. Loyalists however were supported by the USSR. Lasted until April 1, 1939. -

Germany invaded Austria in order to achieve annexation of the country. -
Munich Conference
Meeting in Munich between Hitler, Mussolini, Chamberlain, and Daladier. This was held in order for Hitler to propose to appease part of Czechoslovakia. Which was given the name of the Sudetenland. -

Sudenteland, Czecholosvakia is captured by the Nazis. -
German Occupation of Czecholosvakia
After the Germans took part of Czecholosvakia, Hitler wanted to conquest all of it. Hitler saw this as a perfect opportunity as the country was weak, so he sent all forces to occupy the remaining of the territory. -

Nazis and Italians agree to military/political alliance. -

Nazis-Soviets agree that both countries will not attack each other. -
Start of WWII
The Germans had already annexed part of Czecholosvaikia, now they wanted to annex part of Poland. Germans moved into Poland, and the Soviets moved in from the left. Allies declared war marking the start of WWII. -
