The significance of this event was that he took a cyanide capsule with his new wife Ava and then shot himself inside of the bunker. Nobody saw him pull the trigger, no photos or videos were taken and his body was not recovered. Some historians believe he didn’t commit suicide. Instead he took a U-boat and fled to Argentina. -
