This battle was also a big turning point in the WWII’s history, where Nazi Germany unsuccessfully fought against the Soviet Union for the control of Stalingrad. And it ended with Soviet victory. -

Allied forces arrived on the French shore, and it is the largest seaborne invasion in history. And with that Hitler had to fought on two fronts which ended in total failure. -

After the Atomic Bomb was dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan formally surrenders, marking the end of the Second World War.
