Birth of Anne Frank
She was born in Frankfurt, Germany. She was the youngest of 2 in the family, her sister Margot was 3 years older. -
Hitler takes power over Germany
The main turning point in the Frank's family, as well as all jewish families living in Germany. Hitler's antisemitic's rules led to unfair treatment of the jewish population by forbiding them to own businesses and to have equal rights as the German population, this led to the migration of many jewish people to other countries. The Frank family moved from Germany to Amsterdam in the early 1930s. -
The beginning of WW2
WW2 has begun On 1 September 1939, Germany invaded Poland.
2 days later, France and Britain declared war to Germany starting WW2 wich will end in 1945 causing the death of approximately 11 million people. -
The diary
Anne received her diary from her parents on her 13th birthday on June 12th 1942. -
The Franks go into hiding
On July 5th 1942 Anne's sister, Margot received a letter from the Nazis requesting her to report for work in a forced-labor camp.
To avoid this, on the morning of Monday, 6 July 1942 the family went into hiding in the father's office, in a secret room called the annex. -
Life in the annex
Life in the annex is not normal. as the clock strikes 8:30 AM, the office staff arrives and everything must be quiet in the annex. No walking around, no use of the lavatory, and no use of water. After breakfast, they stayed together and read. On that day, The Soviet Navy newspaper Red Fleet revealed the discovery of unknown types of German explosive devices that were left behind by soldiers fleeing from the Soviets. -
Friday Sept 10
The family heard on the radio that Italy had just capitulated.
A great day for ones, but others... Not so good.
Mr. Koophuis had to go into the hospital for an abdominal operation, he will stay there for 4 weeks. On that day, german troops occupy Rome while the Italian fleet surrenders at Malta. -
Thursday Sept 16
Because of WW2, relationship is more and more difficult in Anne's family. Nobody opens their mouths exept to eat food. Anne takes worry and depression pills. Not some very good days. The warehouse man is becoming suspicious about the secret annex. On that day, British forces land in Greece and in Italy, forcing the germans to withdraw from there positions. -

Happy birthday! MRS. Van Daan's!
Even if it is her birthday, almost everybody is mad.
Again, a SAD Day. But, they gave her a pot of jam and coupons for cheese, meat, and bread. On that day, British and U.S. armies continue to advance in Italy and on the Eastern Front, the Russians capture more cities -
Hitler Dead!
The 30th April 1945, Hitler commited suicide. -
