How They Fought - Trenches, Conditions were cold and snowy.
Why it is important - Canadinas fought together for the first time. They gained control of Vimy Ridge and showed new hope for their allies by defeating the heavy german defence. They also learned a new tactic called the creeping barrage which prevented German machine guns from killing them. -

Why it is important - This was important because we were losing many troops on the front lines and we needed people to take their place. The volunteer ratees werent high so the government needed people to fight in the war and keep the war in our favour. When this came into play, more than 400,000 canadians were forced to join the battle and support the troops. -
