President Woodrow Wilson sent ¨colonel¨ Edward House, he trusted adviser, to Europe. His task was to investigate the growing straims on the European powers. This was importants because the U.S. was concerned about Europe at the time. -
Assassination
Royal couple Franz Ferdinand and his wife were visiting Sarajevo when an attaimped on there lifes were made when a terriost through a bomb and there car but missed. After moving on with there drive another teriost shot into the car killing the couple. This empacts the U.S. because the death of the royal couple set off a chain reaction that eventually pulled the U.S. in. -
Dont be afraid
Wilson told the U.S. not to be afraid of the war because it was a war we had nothing to do with and whoes causes could not touch us. Here we see the U.S. not concered for the war at all because they thought it was only a war concerning the European countries. -
Feeling lucky?
Theodore Roosevelt smugly observed that the United States was lucky to be almost "alone among the great civilized powers in being unshaken by the present worldwide war" This concerns the U,S. because it is said by an ex-presdient and is very true at the time the U.S. is not that involoved in the war yet -
Death
At this time the war became a cold and bloody stalemate. Neither sides could knock there enemy out causing more deaths for both sides. This affects the U.S. because they see the war as bloddy and wrong and maybe need to step in and put an end the the deaths on both sides. -
British steamship
Germany violated American rights an sank a British steamship killing over a 100 Americans. This caused the U.S. the become angry, they were a neutral and until now did not want to be apart of the war. But they did not want to seat back while Americans lost there lives. -
Neutrality no more
Woodrow Wilson declares that the U.S. can no longer be neutral, there are too many civilans loosing there lives. This shows the U.S. is officaily joined the war and their is no longer turning back.
