Akbar's Birth
The third ruler of the Mughal Empire, Akbar, was born in the Rajput Fortress of Umarkot in Sind. He was the son of Nasiruddin Humayun, the second Mughal ruler. Destined for greatness and this is only the start. With expansion and domination of his country he led the Mughals to the height of their empire. -

Humayun recaptures Delhi
Akbar's father, the sultan Humayun, recaptured Delhi after it was sieged and fell out of his control. During this battle Humayun fell sick and was administered care at home. A few months later he died which left the throne to his 13 year old son, Akbar. -

Akbar Takes the Throne
After his father, Humayun, died Akbar was the first in line for the throne. During the time he was only 13 years old. His reign started in 1556 and lasted almost 50 years. -

Second Battle of Panipat
On the fifth of November, 'Akbar the Great' fought the Second Battle of Panipat against General Hemu. Winning this battle granted the throne of India to Akbar. This was his first military victory, but certainly not the last -

India Conquest
Akbar further expanded the empire by capturing and annexing the kingdoms of Gwalior, northern Rajputana, and Jaunpur. This gave the Mughal Empire a massive amount of land and resources. With the more land they controlled the more they wanted, this was just the start of Akbar's Conquering -
Jan 2, 1561
Malwa conquest
Akbar in 1561 and 1562 decided to further expand the Mughal empire. He decided to march onto tribes and territory controlled by Baz Bahadur. In the first march rebellions slowed him down and he was unsuccessful. One year later he reattempted and over threw Baz Bahadur. -

Battle of Thanesar
Akbar, on the verge of taking over another Rajput capital made camp in Qanat. Large number of priests came here to drink from the rivers waters and all two different sides broke out into fights. With the fights going on and Akbar concerned about the brawls getting to his camp he sent out 250 soldiers to recapture and settle down the camp of Qanat. -

Siege of Chittorgarh
In October a Mughal army of 5000 men were led into Chittorgarh by Akbar. They surrounded and sieged 8000 Hindu Rajputs. This battle led Akbar to aquiring more land and further expanding his empire. -

Gujarat Rebellions
Having established his authority over Gujarat, Akbar returned to Agra. Mirza-led rebellions then broke out. Akbar returned, his army of 3,000 horsemen beat the enemies, who had roughly 20,000 men. This rebellion being settled gave Akbar control again and he further expanded the Mughal Empire and continued to make it thrive. -
Akbar's Death
The end of Akbars rule was destined. But he ruled since age 13 and held the throne for 50 years, an impressive amount of time for the amount of treachery back then. His body was entombed in a magnificent mausoleum at Sikandra city, near Agra. His son Shah Jihan took the throne.
