    -German forces attacked from the land and air.
    - Poland, not sure what to do, attacks them head on with their cavaliers. This leads to their downfall in the battle, causing them to become invaded.

  • France and Brittain Declare War on Germany

    • Due to Germany invading Poland
    • Another event that sparked the declarartion was the Brittish Ocean liner, Athenia that was sunk by a German Submarine
  • The Blitzkreig

    • (Lightning War in the German Language)
    • A war tactic that defeats the enemy quickly by attacking from land and air.
    • From May ,10th, 1940 to June ,22nd, 1940, Germany had taken over a large portion of western Europe including: Netherlands Belgium Northern France
  • The Battle of Britain

    • Germany attacks Britain from an airstrike
    • After a battle lasting until October, Britain wins and becomes one of the few countries that were not invaded by Germany after an attack.
  • The Tripartite Pact

    • Germany, Italy, and Japan form the Axis Alliance.
    • The pact states that if any of the three countries are attacked, they will be provided assistance by the other 2 countries.
    • The pact was signed in Berlin
    • Later, in November, 1940, Hungary signs the pact
  • Pearl Harbor

    • Japan bombs the US Naval Base in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii
    • Japan's purpose in the attack was to stop the United States from interfering with their actions in the war. However, all this did was agravate the USA and cause them to join WW2 with the Allies.
  • The Battle of Midway

    • The Battle of Midway was a United States naval attack against Japan.
    • Japan attempted to lure American ships. However, American codebreakers figured out the plan beforehand, causing the US navy to proceed in a complete ambush.
  • D-day

    • Massive battle between america and germany in order to liberate europe from nazis
    • Took place in Normandy, France
    • There were a total of 160000 allied troops, 9000 soldiers were dead and injured after d-day.
  • Battle of the Bulge

    • Suprise attack from Germany at the allied forces.
    • Allied forces were excpected to lose because they were caught off guard. However, they made a miraculous comeback and won the war.
    • Largest number of Allies died compared to the other wars of WW2.
    • Germany had used up a large portion of their weapons and other resources for warfare because of this battle. This led to their destruction and later caused them to surrender on May, 7, 1945
  • Hiroshima bombing

    • America drops an atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima, Japan.
    • 90,000-120,000 people died
    • Another bomb is dropped later in Nagasaki, causing Japan to surrender. FInally, WW2 has ended
