    This was a form of an attack used by the Germans in Poland. This was executed using mobile forces and local fire power. This led the enemy confused and unorganized.This method of battle became commonly used for example in the North African campaign of World War II. The U.S. also used this for there European operations.
  • Operation Barbarossa

    Operation Barbarossa
    operation Barbarossa was a huge atack on the Soviet union over 4.5 million troops were deployed. This was done because Hitler has always had his eye on Soviet resources. And before all this they had a pact to not fight but both sides have always kept an eye out and in this case the Soviets were not prepared for battle. Nearly 800,000 soviets have been killed and 600,000 red army troops wounded. This battle was one of the bloodiest battles in all of history
  • Pearl Harbor

    Pearl Harbor
    Pear harbor was one of most memorable attacks on U.S territory. This attack was led by the Japanese and included hundreds of Japanese fighter planes firing at the naval base almost 20 American naval vessels were destroyed. To add to this more then 2,000 Americans soldiers were killed and 1,000 wounded. After this fatal day congress declared war on Japan which led Japanese allies to fight the U.S.
  • Bataan Death March

    Bataan Death March
    The Bataan death march was set up by the Japanese because they took over the main Philippine island. Every one on the islands Bataan peninsula including Filipinos and U.S soldiers added up to 75,000 people and were forced to march to a prison camp near Cabanatuan. They had six days to complete the journey and they had to survive on a single bowl of rice the whole march. Hundreds of the people kept prisoner didn't make it and the ones that did were able to celebrate the U.S liberation of Luzon

    The battle of Midway took place six months after the Japanese attack on pearl harbor. this battle was a major win for the U.S. because they defeated the Japanese in a naval battle this was mainly thanks to code breaking which made them able to see there ambush before it even happened. This attack gave the U.S a chance to go into the offensive position and left the Japanese with permanent damage.

    This event was a truly amazing thing. This uprising was done by jews trapped in ghettos and then led an armed revolt against deportations and camps. And because of this it inspired others in camps to form revolts all around Europe.
  • Operation Gomorrah

    Operation Gomorrah
    this operation was executed by Britain and the U.S. and included Britain bombing Hamburgs by night while the U.S. bombed it by night. But on July 24 a British aircraft dropped 2,300 tons of incendiary bombs on Hamburg. More then 1,500 civilians were killed and to make matters worse for Germany The U.S. launched there eighth air force to do bombing runs on northern Germany . At the end 30,000 people died and over 280,000 buildings were destroyed.

    This was the day when Germany conducted there last offensive of the war. This battle was named the bulge because the German created a literal bulge around the Ardenned forest. In this they were trying to move the the allied front line west from northern France to northwestern Belgium. The Germans also had a great plan by pretending to be U.S. soldiers and because of this many were killed, wounded, and captured.

    The Okinawa battle was the last and biggest battle of the pacific islands. This battle involved 270,000 U.S. troops. Attacking 130,000 soldiers of the Japanese the only thing they had at stake was there airbases which they needed for future attacks. after the 82 day battle japan has lost more then 77,000 soldiers and allies had went through 65,000 casualties and 14,000 died,
  • VE Day

    VE Day
    This day marked the day that Germany surrendered in Prague. They surrendered because more then 8,000 soldiers were already killed and were outnumbered. Since the Germans they were gong to be captured they all began a massive exodus but were later stopped by the soviet soldiers. and soon after many more surrender documents came in.
