The day the British and Australian armies invaded Turkey, trying to secure it. Many people died on both sides and eventually, the invasion was abandoned. In Australia and New Zealand, this day is known as ANZAC day. -

The ANZAC Mounted Divison (troops with horses) fought their first major conflict with Romani. -
Australian Conscription Vote
The first time the Australian government did a nation wide vote on whether people agreed with conscription or not. 51% did not agree with it. -
Russian Revoulution
This date was the start of the Russian Revoultion. The revoulution lead to the formation of the Soviet Union, overthrough the monarchy and put in place a communist government. It ended on the 8th of November, 1917. -
America joined the War
America joined Britain and France to fight on the battlefields of France. -

Turkey surrendered to Britain and left the war. -
The End of the War
Germany formally surrendered on this day. The nations stopped fighting whilst they negotiated terms of peace. This day is now known as 'Remberance Day'. -
Treaty Signed
Germany and the allied forces signed the Treaty of Versailles, which was a peace settlement that would officially declare the war was over. -
Turkey and Greece make peace
Turkey ended the war between Greece and Turkey. The Treaty of Lausanna, a peace treaty to end their conflict, was approved by Greece and Turkey in August 1923. -
Hitler Comes to Power
On this day, Hitler was appointed as Chancellor of Germany. The Nazi Party had full power of the German government. -
