Triple Alliance
Germany, Italy & Austria- Hungry together are the Triple Alliance. In 1882 a document was signed for military support incase of war.The team had support for eachother throughout World War 1 and the Triple Alliance ended in 1915. (map of the alliance countries) -

Triple Entente Formed
On August the 31st 1907 the Triple Entente was formed. Originally it was Russia and France, however Britain joined in 1907.It consisted of Russia, Britain and France.They fought together until 1917, when Russia withdrew from war. (diagram of allied countries) -

Francis Ferdinand Arrived in Sarajeve
Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie visit Serejevo to present a speech. -
Attempted Assasination
Nedjelko Cabrinovic attempted to assasinate the Archduke and Sophie by throwing a bomb at their car. The bomb rolled off the back of their car but didn't explode. (confusion of bomb event) -
Murder of Archduke
After the speech, the Archduke and his wife wanted to visit the injured from the bomb. On the way back their driver took the wrong turn, passing Gavrilo Princip. He shot both the Archduke and his wife, killing them both. (the shooting) -

World War 1 Began
On the 28th of July 1914, the first World War began. It was caused due to imperilism (wanting to be the best empire), Nationalism, Assasination and many more factors caused this World War and caused many people to loose their lives to fight for their country. (beginning of ww1) -

Marne Battle Begins
When the French army found the gap with the Marne river in the battlefields, they decided to use it to try to defeat Germany and It's Allies. -
Reinforcements for France
Germany started fighting back and on the 7th of September the French almost lost but their side was quickly reinforced by troops brought from Paris. -
Retreatment of the German's
Leader of the German troops at the Marne river was nervous and sent the first orders for the German army to retreat from the Marne river (Marne river trenches) -
Final Retreat
All German forces had broke off contact with the enemy and retreated to the Aisne river to fight. (Aisne river battle trenches) -
New General Leader for Germany

Allied Troops Landed in Gallipolli

Treaty of Brest-Litousk signed
Russia and Germany signed a Treaty on March 3rd 1918 to agree on eachothers terms. (the treaty) -
Turkey made peace
Turkey made peace with other countries on the 13th of October, 1918. The Turkish leader during World War 1 was Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, and he signed the Treaty. -
Germany runs out of supplies
Germany began to run out of supplies like manpower, food, etc and had eventually had to surrender. (German cannon) -
Austria-Hungary made peace
On the 3rd of November, 1918 Austria-Hungary made peace.Emperor Franz Joseph I was their leader, and he signed the treaty. -
World War 1 Ended
On November the 11th 1918 the first World War came to an end. 61,966 Australian's were killed and over 100,000 were left wounded.
