Attack at Pearl Harbor
The Attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise military strike by the Imperial Japanese upon the United States against the naval base at Pearl Harbor. Bataan falls. It is the largest surrender by the U.S. Army. Corregidor falls. The last American stronghold in the Philippines is now under Japanese control. American land forces go on the offensive for the first time in the Pacific, landing on Guadalcanal. After a year at war, more than 35,000 Americans in uniform had died. -
How did it end ?
The Second World War ended with the unconditional surrender of the Axis powers. In 1945, the Allies accepted the surrender of Germany, about a week after Adolf Hitler had committed suicide. China, France, Great Britain, the Soviet Union and the United States were several countries that intervened in World War II. Brazil joined the allies in 1943. Germany, Italy and Japan, on the other hand, represented the Axis forces.
