During this event Hitler ordered the German army to be increased in size from the 100,000 limit placed by the Treat of Versailles to nearly 300,000 men. -
The Munich Conference and Appeasement

A German word that means "Lightening War" the Blitzkrieg is a strategy which uses massive amounts of infantry, air, and ground forces to create chaos in your enemies and crush them quickly and effectively. It was first used when Germany invaded Poland in 1939 on the same day that World War II started. -

After the fall of Paris to the invading Nazi army, in 1940 the French were out of option so they signed an armistice with the Germans effectively surrendering and giving up their own country. -
Lend Lease Act
This act was proposed in 1940 and passed in March of 1941, in it we use the process of lend-leasing which means the U.S. president could authorize the transfer of military equipment and financial help to other countries that were allies with the U.S. and taking part in WWII. -
Operation Barbarossa
This operation was the Nazis massive invasion of the Soivet Union, that the Germans perpetrated after breaking the non agression pact that they had signed previously with the Soviet Union. -
Pearl Harbor
The day that will live in infamy, the attack on Pearl Harbor was a massive Japanese attack on a U.S. Navy base, the purpose of the attack was to cripple the U.S. Navy so that the U.S. would have no way to effectively deal with the Japanese. This also officialy drug the U.S. into the second World War. -
Atlantic Charter
This charter was signed between 26 allied countries in January 1942, it was signed to decide what they envisioned the postwar world to look like, and it was the first step to the creation of the United Nations in 1945. -
The Big Three
The Big Three were the three largest and most powerful allied powers during the Second World War, and in November of 1943 the leaders of these countries met in Tehran to discuss what the plans for the post war world would be. -
D-Day
This event was a massvie amphibious landing in which nearly 156,000 troops from Canada, Britain, and the United States landed in Normandy France to start the counteroffensive against the Nazis which would free Western Europe from the Nazis. -
The Battle of Berlin
This Battle was the finaly major offensive push made by the Soviet Union on Germany before the end of World War II. -
Fall of Berlin (German Surrender)
After one of the most intense battles in history the guns stopped firing and amist the rubble which used to be called Berlin Germany surrendered ending the Second World War on the European front. -
Atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki
At this point in the war the fight in Europe was over, but the Americans were still fighting the Japanese using a strategy known as Island Hopping, in which the U.S. took crucial islands from the Japanese but left other non important islands, they did this until they got within in bombing range of mainland Japan. Once there on the 6th of August 1945 the U.S. unleashed a new weapon on the Japanese which would force them to surrender ending the war for good. -
The United Nations
The United Nations was formed after the war and its purpose was to push the post war world past WWII and to make sure that it never happened again.
