In 1945 after several years of fighting Germany surrendered, The Germans surrendered after the Allies bombed Berlin repeatedly. On May 7, 1945 General Eisenhower accepted the surrender from the German military. -
Allies use atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki
In 1945 the allies used atomic bombs on Japanese cities Hiroshima and Nagasaski. The Allies had bombed Tokyo as a warning before but Japan did not surrender so the Allies used atomic bombs. The boms killed about 70,000 people in both cities. With thousands of more deaths later that year due to the bombs. -

In 1945 the United Nations formed. The United Nations was formed after World War II to promote international cooperation. In 1945 representatives of 50 nations met to complete the charter of the United Nations.
