Pearl Harbor occurs on this day. It was a true tragedy. The American people were not expecting this at all. Many lives were lost by the complete air attack by the Japanese. There were many factors that went into what happened that day. -

This war was the turning point for the war in the Pacific because the US were not only able to win the battle, 4 japanese carriers were sank while only 1 us one was bombed and sank. It didn't matter who owned the territory there, it was more of a moral victory. The losses of Japanese people to US people was outstanding. -

The day that Japan surrender to Allied Forces. They finally agree to the terms of surrender. The bombs worked, but in an extremely overkill-esque way. -

War Crime Trials were held in these places telling them of what crimes they had persued in. It was here where the officials responsible for wha they did were arrested.
