The boarder of Czechoslovakia and Germany that contained 3 million Jews. Germany wanted to annex this area and the possibilities of it being annexed would have been losing their natural land barrier and a mountain range. During the Munich Conference of 1938 Germany annexed the Sudetenland

Japanese Internment Camp
When the Japanese bombed our pacific naval base, Pearl Harbor, and dragged the U.S. into war, Japanese Americans trust were degraded. The government began question their loyalty and they then passes Order 9066. This led to Japanese Americans to go to concentration camps. The camps ended in 1945

The Battle of Guadalcanal
The major goal of this battle was to capture the island of Guadalcanal because that was where the Japanese were building an airplane field. After 5 months, the Japanese were finally defeated ending in February 1943.

Battle of Midway
Battle of Midway was a three day battle starting on June 4th and ending on the 6th. The Americans sank 4 Japanese carriers. They later lost around 250 planes and some of their most skilled pilots. Japan was unable to to launch any more offense operation in the Pacific which was a victory to the allies because it allowed them to take the offense in the Pacific.

This battle went on for about 6 months ending February 2, 1943. German forces were defeated in their attempt to capture an industrial port city on the Volga River in the Soviet Union

Battle of the Philippines Sea
Japan attempts to stop the UNS from advancing in the pacific but were annihilated and the majority of the Japanese aircraft were destroyed in the "Great Marianas Turkey Shoot". Almost all there navy and air force are completely destroyed. This battle ended the next day on June 20, 1944

Meeting at Yalta
The Yalta Conference was when FDR, Stalin, and Churchill met in the Soviet Union to discuss the shape of the post world. During this they agreed on 4 things:
- To split Germany into four zones each under the control of a major ally, including France
- A similar division of Berlin
- Stalin promised to allow elections in the nations of Eastern Europe that his army had liberated from the Germans
- Stalin had also promised to enter the war against Japan
- Stalin did not fulfill any of his promises -

Island hopping was a navel strategy used by the Allies for the Pacific Theater. It is a military strategy of selectively attacking specific enemy-held islands and bypassing others.
