     Benito Mussolini, the leader of Italy, had accepted Adolf Hitler's plans to expand German territories. Mussolini followed this policy by invaded Ethiopia. Mussolini expansion caused war to happen between Italy and Ethiopia. This started the events leading up to World War Ii.

When they invaded Poland in late 1939. Throughout this attack the German Army was very successful due to all the technological advancements it had over Poland. These inventions made it so easy that they defeated Poland before the start of winter.

    The Western Desert Campaign was a continuous back-and-forth battle. The struggle was between the Allies and Germans. Germany was struggling to access oil from the Middle East and raw materials from Asia. Adolf Hitler instructed Germany's army to invade Africa and take the materials that they need for the war. Their were many battles that were happening throughout Africa. The Germans needed to defeat the Africans in order to get the materials they needed for the war.

    Genocide is the deliberate killing of a large group of people. This was used by the ruler of Germany, Adolf Hitler. He had most of the Jewish population massacre throughout World War II. The Nazi - Germany troops targeted certain people with certain beliefs. Hitler did not just massacre Jews but other groups like Slavs, gypsies, homosexuals and disabled people who were classified to him as undesirable.

    German Forces invaded the Soviet Union in early October in 1941. The Germans were trying to take over the capital of the Soviet union, which was Moscow. Throughout this long battle the Soviets caught the Germans by surprise in December. The Germans were poorly equipped to fight in the harsh winter of Russia.The German army surrendered to the Soviets. The Battle officially ended on January 7,1942.

    Pearl Harbor is a U.S. naval base that was surprised attack by the Japanese on December 7, 1941. Hundreds of Japanese fighter planes successfully destroyed the base. More than 2,400 Americans died in the attack and 20 vessels were damaged . This event was one of the stepping stones for the United States to enter World War II.

On this date, German armies launched the deadliest battle of the war in the west to the Allies. on December 16, 1944. The United States Army, suffered over 100,000 casualties in this one battle.

    The United States started testing nuclear weapons when Japan surprised attacked attack Pearl Harbor. The U.S. were testing atomic bombs out in the desert in New Mexico. This was called the Manhattan Project. The US was trying to end the war by defeating Japan. President Truman was warned that their would be tons of casualties if they try to invade Japan. So President Truman ordered that the nuclear weapon to be brought into war. The bomb was dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima on August 9,1945.
