D-Day was an allied invasion of Normandy, France. This attack was the largest seaborne invasion in history. -
Hiroshima & Nagasaki
These were both atomic bombs dropped on Japan to cause them to surrender. Nagasaki killed 40,000 people and Hiroshima wiped out 80,000 citizens immediately. The plan worked and Japan's Emperor Hirohito surrendered on September 2, 1945. -

The Battle of Berlin was the last major battle of WWII. -
