Allowed the U.S. to offer weapons and other war supplies to theAllied Powers to fight against the Axis Powers, regardless of their ability to pay. -

An agreement between FDR and Winston Churchill that defined their post-war goals. -
Pearl Harbor
Japan attacks Pearl Harbor naval base, destroying most of the U.S. fleet and over 3000 men were killed or wounded. -

The U.S. declares war on Japan, three days later Germany and Italy declare war on the U.S. -

After six weeks of fighting the U.S. prevails, securing several key air feilds. -
V-E Day
The Germans surrender to the Allied Powers. -
Battle of Okinawa ends
The bloodiest battle in the Pacfic concludes with the U.S. holding control of the air fields that were needed to bomb Japan. -
Hiroshima
The atomic bomb is dropped on Hiroshima following Japan's refusal to surrender. -
Nagasaki
The second atomic bomb is dropped on Nagasaki. -
