On September 1, 1941 Germany invades Poland. The germans wanted their land back that was taken from then during the Treaty of Versailles. This was the beginning of World War II. -

Blitxkrieg also called "lightening war" was a war tactic used by the germans. It was an easy way to attack other countries. This helped Germany to take over countries easier. -

On December 7, 1941 Japan bombs Pearl Harbor. The reason behind this was because American stopped providing the japanese with oil supply which stopped them from making weapons and using other equipment that was important during the war, This was when The USA entered World War II. -
D-Day
D-Day happened June 6, 1944. American fought the Germans on the French coast. American was trying to overpower the Nazi's and end World War II. The Allied powers won and soon after Hitler commits suicide. -
Liberation of concentration camps
Soviets had found out about the concentration camps and Hitler had tried to hide the evidence by ordered them to be destroyed. The camps were shut down. They were liberated. -
Battle of the Bulge
Germany surprise attacks the Ardennes. They were trying to defeat the Allied forces but were unsuccessful. This was the dealiest and costliest battle in all of World War II. -
Battle of Iwo Jima
February 19, 1945 Americans captures the island of Iwo Jima from Japan. The USA needed a base closer to the Japan close so during invasion the battle would be a little easier. American won this battle. -
Battle of Okinawa
April 1, 1945 was the day America began to fight over the Okinawa islands. American wanted another base closer to the Japan coast for easier invasion. The US won this battle but there were many casualties. -
VE day
Japan unconditioally surrenders to the allied forces in Europe. This has became a national holiday in Europe. The allied powers had won World War II. -
Potsdam Declaration
Japan had surrenderd all of their armed forces. This declaration was signed in agreement. This was the beginning of the end of World War II. -
Dropping of the atomic bomnbs
The US dropped an atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. America wanted victory. Thousands and thousands of people were killed with long last effects. -
VJ Day
Japan formally surrenderd to all Allied forces. The agreement was signed on the S.S Missouri. This has baecome a national day of celebratory.
