Japan attacked one of Americas biggest Naval Bases in Hawii. Japan thought that if they attaced our Naval it would prevent us from joining which would give them time to invade China. America recovered quicker then ever and pegan producing many ships at a time. -
D-Day
More than 160,000 allided troops landed to fight Germany on the beaches of Normandy. The allies gained a foothold in Continental Europe. Although we lost a lot of allied troops it allowed more than 100'000 troops to began the long journay to go fight Hitler's crack troops. -
Adolf Hitler dies
After realizing the defeat was near Adolf Hitler committed suicide. Leaving Karl Dönitz in charge. -
Germany surrenders
When Soviets began approaching the German captial of Berlin from the east and west Germany knew they were going to be defeated. Karl Dönitz surrendered. -
America bombs Japan
In order to defeat Japan without having to send in troops America decided to drop two atomic bombs on Japan. This caused a huge explosian destroying most of Japan. America was the first country to use Nuclear weapons. This causes JApan to surrender.
