Japanese military officers force Filipino and American prisoners of war (60-80,000) to march from their homes (in Saisaih and Mariveles) to Camp O'Donnel. They were stripped of their belongings and many died along the way. 21,600+ officers died. -

This was a naval battle fought at Midway six months after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Japan attacked because they wanted free reign in creating the Greater East Asia Prosperity Sphere. The U.S. has a decisive victory. -

These were a series of battle centered around the Okinawan islands. The U.S.'s goal was to set up an airbase and they did so by winning the battle. -
VE-Day
The public holiday that is to celebrate the ending of World War II in Europe when Hitler committed suicide. Conflicts in Europe are stopped. -
Dropping of the Atomic Bombs
Date that two Atomic Bombs were dropped on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This route was chosen because of the fact that a direct invasion on Japan would prove to have severe casualties. Japan surrenders after the dropping of the second bomb. -
VJ-Day
The day declared to be the celebration of American victory in Japan when the Atomic Bombs ended the war. World War II is over.
