In the Pacific, Japan was taking over large portions of China and other countries of Southeast Asia. When this was happening Germany continued to be victorious and take over nation after nation. Altough the world was at war, the U.S. continued to watch from the sidelines.

    lend lease program Although the U.S. stayed out of the war untill 1941, FDR and the congress weren't neutral. America though that Japan/Germany were winning so they lent support to their allies. During the Lend-Lease act, the U.S. sent billions of dollars worth of supplies to the allies. In exchange we got military bases. Once we finally entered the war, we still sent supplies and materials to our allies.

The attack was a surprise bombing by the Japanese. Their plan was to cripple the U.S. miltary so that they could take over the Pacific. In the attack, 2000 Americans were killed and we lost over 150 ships. We decided to declare war on Japan.

This shipyard had a major impact and was very important during the war because it helped with fighting over seas. Esienhower led the allie troops. He had a famous quote, "we will accept nothing more than a fulll victory." On D-Day, the allied troops gained mroe control of france, but we lost 10,000 soldiers in a hard fought battle.

This bomb shocked the world because no one believed it would actually happen.
